Our Mission
Founded by Youth to Inspire Youth
Young Readers Outreach’s mission is to spread the love of books and foster literacy by inspiring a passion for reading, finding creative ways to give books new life, and enriching lives through the stories we share. Every book we place in the hands of a reader strengthens our community, sparks imagination, and brings us closer to a brighter, more connected world.
Our Story
Young Readers Outreach was founded in 2023 as a book club where young students came together to share and discuss their recent readings.
Soon, those conversations sparked a bigger idea: to take action within our community and inspire others to read. By 2024, we had collected over 200 books—just the beginning of our growing impact.
In 2025, Young Readers Outreach was officially registered as a nonprofit, expanding our mission to include accepting monetary donations and launching multiple initiatives that continue to spread the love of books, promote literacy, and strengthen our community. Our mission is expanding beyond our local shelves, carrying the love of reading into new communities and connecting readers everywhere.

We build and stock libraries in laundromats, parks, and waiting rooms — turning overlooked spaces into hubs of imagination and discovery.

Through this initiative, donated books are hand-selected, wrapped, and gifted to someone in need as if they were a present — a tangible reminder that someone cares about them.

Because we are student-run, every donated book is personally handled by young volunteers who know what it means to receive encouragement. We give books not just as objects, but as acts of kindness.
